Crisis City: Psoriasis Game Review

crisis city ps1

Crisis City: PS1 is a fast-paced, action-packed game from Popcap Games. You play the role of Johnny “AZ”, who wakes up from a coma only to find himself in a strange city called PTSD Soldiers of the Night. This is where you take up the task of returning to work, discovering what happened to your loved ones and going after the criminals behind the shooting spree. As you investigate the crime scene, you learn that your boss has been murdered and that the entire city is under attack!

I wasn’t sure about going with this title at first, but I’m not a huge fan of gun shooting games. I’ve played quite a few shooters and although there’s nothing wrong with them – I prefer strategy games where you’re making decisions instead of just shooting random people. Crisis City on the other hand is quite interesting and I think it’ll go over well with the gaming community.

The story is about a boy called Azhgar whom is found dead in the middle of the street. It’s clear from the beginning that something didn’t go right for him and he died a violent death. You get this sense from the beginning as Azhgar is already gravely injured when you first see him lying on the pavement. He is covered in blood and clearly suffered some sort of trauma. You have to wonder what killed him but then again, you also start to question what happened to his life before this latest incident.

Once you’re through with the main storyline, you are set to start exploring the city and its many sides. It’s full of weird characters and you will be fascinated by the way the city handles its criminal elements. One of the biggest problems you will face is dealing with the police who seem to be on the outs with each other. Some of them even seem more out to get their own piece of the pie and aren’t really part of the larger plan. They’re not only a major hindrance in your progress though, they raise all kinds of alarms with their attitudes towards you as a person.

Azhgar is a young boy who survived all his life in the Psoriasis camp but he isn’t immune to the disease. You’re going to have to put up with a lot of physical symptoms that include rapid pulse, lack of appetite and tiredness. As you progress through the game though, you begin to develop a stronger immune system and heal faster. As you do, you will find yourself being pushed to new front as you work your way through this intriguing narrative.

It really doesn’t get any better than when you finally reach the end of the story. The ending is shocking, upsetting and extremely effective. The entire city, including its political leadership, is put under pressure and many political and religious leaders are forced to do what they can to help the affected citizens. The entire situation in the game is extremely dramatic. The graphic images and scenes, including the dark attacks and the blood and gore make the scenes riveting.

This is one game that doesn’t overstay its welcome. Each level takes about forty-five minutes, so you spend about three hours playing through it. That’s quite an accomplishment for a game about such a short length. The overall pace of the story is steady and never becomes frustrating or tedious. It may take some time to get used to, but it is a very engaging tale and the graphics and sound effects are realistic.

If you enjoyed the first few missions of “Crisis City” then you’re going to love this final chapter. The story is compelling, the graphics are phenomenal, and the overall experience is excellent. This game is definitely a must buy and anyone with a problem with psoriasis or with anything having to do with the skin disorder should absolutely play this. If you enjoy action packed stories, then this is definitely the game for you.
